Joseph

Joseph Yount was born November 1817 at St. Joseph, MO. He served in the Mexican War and came to California before the Gold Rush and again in 1849. He returned to Nebraska where he captained a wagon train across the plains in 1862. Yount then moved to Le Grande, OR for 13 years. In 1876, he traveled to Arizona. Yount died on January 3, 1907 in San Bernardino and is buried at the San Bernardino Pioneer Cemetery.
