Miller was born February 11, 1850 in Oklahoma. He came to California with his uncle in 1856 and and even though he was only 6 years old, he helped drive the ox team and guard the stock. He arrived in San Bernardino county in 1862 resided on a ranch near Patton and raised fruit. He was married on August 31, 1871 to Elenorah Hancock. Miller died on March 15, 1943.
