John Ellis Garner, Sr. was born May 1, 1820 in Davidson County, NC. This photo is John Garner and family in 1851, the year they came to San Bernardino. Garner was a farmer and served as a County Supervisor 1868 to 1869. He died February 26, 1889 at Newport Beach, CA and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in San Bernardino.
