Richard Thomas (Tom) Roberds was born on April 9, 1837 in Monroe County, Mississippi. He came to San Bernardino, CA in 1857 and became a farmer. Roberds' ranch was on 9th Street in San Bernardino. He married Harriet Bemis on January 23, 1859. Roberds was President of the San Bernardino Society of Pioneers three times. He died on May 14, 1915 and is buried in the San Bernardino Pioneer Cemetery.
